Uncovering Aberrant Signaling and Molecular Characteristics using Integrative Network Strategy in Thymic Epithelial Tumors
发布时间:2023/05/11

Thymic epithelial tumors (TETs) are rare malignant tumors, and the molecular mechanisms of both primary and recurrent TETs are poorly understood. In a study recently published in Computers in Biology and Medicine, SCSB researcher, Associate Prof. Xin Ku proposed an integrative network strategy to expose the aberrant signaling and molecular characteristics of thymic epithelial tumors. Through the analysis of proteomics data, researchers applied modular and shortest path-based methods to identify phenotype modules and key proteins, leading to the discovery of hnRNPA2B1. The drug repositioning combined molecular dynamics simulations suggested that the compound ergotamine could potentially act as a repurposing drug to treat recurrent TETs by targeting hnRNPA2B1.
