Rapid, reliable, and cost-effective molecular diagnostics are crucial for controlling the spread of COVID-19. Nucleic acid testing (NAT) is the gold standard for diagnosing COVID-19, but false-negative results can frequently occur when sample collection is inadequate. Serological testing provides valuable information, including estimating population exposure, disease severity, and improving clinical outcomes. It is an important complementary method for rapid detection and monitoring of mild or asymptomatic infections in addition to NAT. In this article, we discuss several techniques for identifying specific peptides/epitopes of COVID19 and summarize their findings.
